About Page
Hello, and welcome to my Educational Tech Blog! My name is Lisa Markham and I am a media specialist in a Kindergarten through fifth grade school in south-eastern Georgia. I was a classroom teacher for eight years before entering the world of library media three short years ago. From the very beginning I knew library media was my calling and what I was meant to do. I still consider myself very much a teacher, but now I teach all grades in the biggest classroom in the school!
I love reading, but even more, I love inspiring children to read. That is the number one reason I became a media specialist. My educational philosophy is: all children can learn to read, develop a passion for reading, and ultimately become a life long reader. As a media specialist, inspiring children in the area of reading and technology is my first priority, and I think the best way to do this is to make every experience for students in the library a fun one!
This blog is not mainly about reading however, but technology. Join me as I encounter, learn and experience technology, and specifically the world of web 2.0 technologies. This is a place you can come and read about my enlightenment, discovery, and even my frustrations as a new media specialist, but particularly in the area of technology. This blog is meant for teachers and specifically media specialists, written by one of your own, yours truly. I sincerely hope you find it informative, relatable, and entertaining at the least!
